GW2
There's sure to be lots of new rods from the various makers to test cast and a few classic rods to look over too. The Owens River is just a few minutes away and there's lots of other fishing in the area too. Hot Creek, California's version of the Firehole River, is not far away and is a spring creek with a twist - several hot springs add their hot water to the creek. This is an ideal time of year to do some fishing here and the waters are not as crowded as earlier in the season.
If enough people are interested in having a guide that knows the local waters, we had a great guest speaker last year that should be just the person to guide interested parties.
Ginny Irvine (Chuck's wife) has arranged for some time a a local resort spa and suggests that the women that might want to get some tim ein the heated pool should bring a swimming suit along.

Chuck recently received a call from fellow rodmaker Jim Reams, up in Fall River Mill, CA and it seems that Jim recently sold a warehouse in which he had 400 + bamboo culms stored. The culms were harvested in 1994. (so they're well seasoned) Jim said that they are not A+ culms but it should be easy to get at least one rod from one. He'll be bringing some of them with him when he comes to the GW2001 and will be selling them for $10.00 each. If anyone is interested in buying any culms please email Chuck so that Jim can have enough for all.
It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to drive to Chuck's from downtown Bishop. If you are a member of AAA, don't forget to ask for the AAA rate at your motel. AAA has a great map of this area that called "Eastern Sierra Guide MAP" do pick up a copy before you come. Or see if the local Bishop AAA branch has them in stock when you arrive. Some of the rodmakers that attended GW2000

Why the site was moved to this url:
I got tired of the hard task that updating the GW2001 pages was when it was located on AOL, plus I didn't like having to put up with all of those darn banners. So I tucked these GW2001 pages into some extra space on my online laptop computer support site. Please understand that this was done to allow more timely updates and not as a commercial plug for my site. If you aren't interested in seeing my laptop pages don't go to the root page of www.orphanlaptops.com
